Dutch Indo Rock
In the early 1960s some of the biggest bands playing in European club circuit came out of the Indonesian Dutch Community centered around The Hague (Den Haag), the Netherlands.
Starting in the mid 1950s, immigrants from Indonesia and Polynesian began to fuse their native music traditions with the Rock & Roll and instrumental surf rock sounds coming out of America. The resulting mix led to a bustling music scene consisting of scores of bands and new musical genre
known as Indo Rock.
